Read Hugs from Heaven Stories
A Hug From Heaven
“Reading Hugging Me From Heaven touched me in ways I wasn’t expecting. The story of Isley, her faith, and the signs she’s sent since her passing—red balloons, rainbows, the number 23, dimes—truly moved me. While reading one evening, I looked up and saw a jersey with the number 23 on the screen. I mentioned it to my partner, and he reminded me about the dime I had just picked up near my truck the day before. It felt like Isley was saying hi.
This book is more than a story—it’s a reminder that our loved ones never truly leave us. It brought me comfort, hope, and the feeling that Heaven is closer than we think.
All of this felt too aligned to ignore. I believe little Isley was saying hi. That in her own special way, she wrapped last night in a hug and sent it through 23s and dimes and stories told by a mama who still feels her daughter close.
And maybe, just maybe, that was God’s way of reminding me…
“You are not alone. Heaven sees you. Signs are everywhere.”

“I got Isley’s book in the mail on a Thursday evening and read almost all of it in one sitting. It’s beautiful! Friday morning I headed to Breaux Bridge from Lake Charles for an appointment and put my music playlist on shuffle in my car (which I never do). An old song that I didn't even realize was on my playlist by The Isley Brothers came on. I was like wow that’s weird. After my appointment I went to the Pig (grocery store in Cecilia) to get some meat where I saw Mary Harris! (Isley’s friend) I was like whoa! That’s even weirder. I’m never in Cecilia so to see Mary was so random. I got home and put on Big Bang Theory. I looked up to see Penny with a yellow balloon! (Smilie teary eyed emoji) After seeing the picture of Mary’s tattoo was the icing on the cake. It warmed my heart at the amount of signs (or hugs) that she sends! “

“Adrienne, in the dreams section of the book, shared with me a few things. At first she sent me a photo of the part of the book with her story and said that she was sobbing. She then said that she will be attending an ACTS retreat in two weeks and hopes Isley makes an appearance there for her. It didn’t take two weeks for Adrienne to see her. Adrienne found a dime on her sofa the NEXT evening and another the following morning on the counter when she was ordering food at Turtle’s. She said, “Can’t even make this up!!! I see you Sis.”

“I’ve had my book since August 30th, but haven’t brought myself to read it. I glanced over a few pages when I received it, but wasn’t ready to sit down and read it. It has been in my book sack as I take on my last semester at ULL. Never opened, no crease in the spine. I would often think about it, telling myself, “You need to read it. It may sadden you, but you will view everything in life differently and strengthen your faith.” Saturday morning, I was in Texas with my boyfriend fixing to leave for his brother’s gender reveal. As I was bringing my stuff to his truck, I noticed a dime sitting under my side of the truck. Tanner, my boyfriend, had walked right there at least 5 times before me, never once seeing it. I knew immediately sweet Isley was telling me to read her book. I’ve cried, I’ve smiled, I’ve laughed.”

“This is giving me smiles and goosebumps. I am reading the book and have been thinking of Misty and Isley. I am waiting for a pizza at Poche’s Little Clubhouse and I stop to pick up a Build a Bear shirt off the floor. When I put it back where it goes, this is right above it. (It is a photo of a shirt with a unicorn on it.)

From Megan: “Santi (her baby) was looking at the cover of the book with Isley on it yesterday and said, “Santo” which means holy and saint in Spanish. Out of the mouth of babes.

“When we got home from the book release party, I told my cousin Rachel about Isley and her “hugs” from heaven. When we walked out of the outdoor kitchen to go into the house for lunch, Rachel said, “Look!” And there it was, 23 written in a tiny concrete slab by the building. I never noticed it before. Then Rachel noticed another one. 10-23 was written on a Jeff Landry for Governor sign under my dad’s boat shed. Forever 10 years old!”

“Dayna sits for Leslie’s mom who has dementia and hides things. Her purse had been missing for two months! Dayna let Leslie read Hugging Me from Heaven when she was done with it. This is a message Leslie sent to Dayna:
“Maybe just a coincidence??? I was reading your book about how Isley’s favorite color was red, for some reason I put the book down, went into the laundry room and something told me to open the little cabinet in there and there it was!!!! It was the red purse! Leslie was so excited!”

Pat’s story: “Her husband had passed away 5 months earlier. She was sitting outside reading the book and crying. She was imagining Isley meeting her husband, Jo and saying, “Oh what a nice man this is.” As she strongly felt Isley’s presence in her heart, she took a break from reading. She then began praying her rosary and as she was doing so, she looked up and saw a rainbow! Pat felt like it was a sign that Isley and Jo were meeting. Pat was crying to my mom as she told this story. My mom said that Pat doesn’t usually show emotion like this. Isley brought Pat peace and comfort in her time of mourning.”

“I had to share what number my Emma got for soccer yesterday. I have been praying for her because she has been having difficulty at school this year. I had to share this Isley hug that we received when we got Emma’s jersey.” (It’s #23) -Meghan

“I started the book yesterday and it filled my heart with so much joy. Thank you, Misty, for sharing your story with us. Your beautiful girl was so special. We think about her often. I found a dime in my car this morning! I have been struggling with my faith, my purpose, and just life lately. Your faith is so strong! You truly amaze me! I feel drawn to return to church. I don’t think that is a coincidence that this popped up on my social media feed.” (It is an image of Our Lady of Sorrows’ prayer). -Danielle

“I am currently reading your book and while I’m reading, I’ve just been in awe of your beautiful little girl. I mean, I always knew she was amazing but this book has truly touched my heart in so many ways! I found lately I’ve been trying to live life like Isley would, and even like you yourself. Your faith is beautiful and just so inspiring! We had a very hard morning Thursday. I drove to work in tears; but was determined to turn it around after work. We all got in bed (chores could wait) and decided to read a color book. To my surprise the first color was red, and sure enough there was a red balloon on the page. I was like, ok, it’s just a coincidence because you are reading Isley’s book. But THEN!!!! Last night we got some pretty upsetting news. I decided instead of reacting, I’d pray 10 Hail Mary’s. This morning I woke up to a dime as I was cleaning and reorganizing the boys’ room. So, I think Isley wanted me to tell you, “Hi”. Love you ma’am! Thank you for sharing your heart and your girl with us in your book. I fully believe she is a Saint.” ~Blair

“My Sister’s Dimes: She stopped to get a card for our family birthday dinner and found a dime. The next day the ladies celebrated Macy and Jordan’s future twins with a baby “sprinkle”. As she was saying goodbye to Macy and Stevie, she looked down right in front of her truck and found another dime. She knew Isley was with us.”

“I have been struggling recently and know I am not where I need to be with my faith. I prayed to Isley to please send me a sign that I am going on the right path. I feel like I need to let God do His work in me. This morning in church, a little girl was sitting in front of me. She turned around a couple of times and would smile at me. As we stood up to say the closing prayer, she put her purse on like a crossbody. That way I was able to see the front of the purse. It was a beautiful rainbow with clouds on the side of the rainbow. That was the most spiritual experience I have ever had in church. All emotions came over me and as I was walking out of church, the tears just rolled down my face. So much peace and comfort came from this beautiful rainbow.” Love you, Wendy.

“I’m switching my children from one school to another. Last night, mom guilt set in and I was like, Lord, are we making the right decision? Please Lord, I need a sign because I’m freaking out a little bit. Well, this morning, my kids and I volunteered to do some works of mercy. We helped a woman move her things from a storage unit to her home. Low and behold a single dime was right in front of the storage unit! I told my kids about it right away that I got the sign I needed and God would protect and keep them safe. It was amazing!!! They in turn looked at me with such confidence (they are ready to change schools) and were like duh Mom! LOL Thankful for Isley helping me ease my troubled mind with this big transition.” ~Danielle

“I’ve been struggling the past few weeks with various things and worries. Your litany has been sitting on my windowsill right above my sink since the day I got the book in the mail. Today I walked over to the sink and felt so overwhelmed. Right when I looked at your litany card, it completely fell over! It’s been in its place for weeks, but today it really jumped out at me. I felt a lot of peace after picking it up and reading it.” ~Anonymous

“My family of three generations went to see a Christian concert. It was a much needed night after burying a good friend today and my niece’s baby a few days prior. It was a rough week. When I got into the backseat of the car, I found a dime! So, Isley was with us all night. It was great. God is good because we are blessed with an awesome family.” ~Annette

“I was tired and had been up all night with my daughter Ella the night before. It was our week for adoration. My husband and I share an hour with friends. I mentioned to my husband that I wanted him to go but it was my turn in the rotation. I knew I needed to go but the devil was attacking! Finally, kind of unwillingly, I agreed to go. Of course, it is MORE than my soul needed. While I was reading the book on the part about Tobin, my heart was hurting for him, especially, but I was so happy to see him turning out to be such a good person. Well, I was thinking of my own kids, how close they are, their dynamic, and then asked Isley to help my kids love each other like Tobin and she did and to love God like she does. Immediately, I got a warm tingling feeling down my neck and it felt like someone had brushed down on my hair. This warmth stayed while I was in the chapel. I grabbed two of the medals and the saint card next to the monstrance for Ella and Parker. When I got into the car Parker’s song “Fear Is Not My Future” was playing on my playlist. He always sings this song. When I got home, I told them that I had something for them from the chapel. I blindly go into the little bitty pocket that I put the medals in and grab two items…WOULD YOU GUESS THAT ONE OF THOSE ITEMS WAS A DIME!!! I knew Isley told me at that moment to keep on trucking and sharing God with them in any way I can. I was stressed with the ordinary things a full-time working mom of three would be. My goal is to soak up all the moments with them that I can and get them to love God by being a good example to them. I pray for Isley’s help with this. Incredibly, she made me feel like she was sitting right next to Jesus saying, “You are not alone. Bring it all to Him.” ~Destiny

“Macy was getting her weekly ultrasound. She is pregnant with twins. Baby A had never shown his/her face on the previous ultrasounds. This week was different. Baby A’s face became visible just as “Brown Eyed Girl” was playing in the office speakers. Hug!
