Together, let’s honor the Saints and Holy Souls throughout the month of November.

Hallowtide

October 31: All Hallows' Eve, the vigil of All Saints' Day | November 1: All Saints' Day, a Holy Day of Obligation celebrating all saints.  | November 2: All Souls' Day, when the Church offers prayers for the faithful departed.

Offer a Mass at your parish for a deceased loved one.

Participate in the Blessing of the Tombs at your church parish, typically held on the Feast of All Saints Day on November 1st.

As a family, visit the graves of loved ones who have passed away and offer a prayer for their souls. If you aren’t sure what to say, you can use the one below:

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Plenary indulgences for the deceased allow us to support our loved ones on their journey to Heaven. By praying for them and performing acts of charity, such as offering Masses or praying the Rosary, we can obtain indulgences that reduce their time in purgatory. This practice not only deepens our connection with the communion of saints but also encourages us to live virtuous lives. Find more on plenary indulgences here.
